Cruise Notes: Took an evening cruise out with Dave, Tracy & Harley Ann. Locked out on a falling spring tide so were slightly restricted on our cruise time, wishing to return before full low tide. Ran upriver to Sun Pier to show our guests the historical dockyard from water side before turning and running out to Folly Point. Harley Ann took command of the helm for a time and did an excellent job of navigating the boat down Chatham Reach. Turned at Folly Point and headed back to Chatham on a beautiful evening. Entered the lock with 0.6 mtr to spare.

Many more vessels out today than during the week so needed to keep a keen eye out for sailing yachts tacking in front of us. Turned at Bishops Ooze and got Marion to sit in the helm seat, something she was reluctant to do, then headed back in. Chatham Lock gate was open on return so went straight in for lunch.

Cruise Notes: After 4 weeks back at Allington Marina undergoing a major hull revamp Kevayling has finally been returned to the water and we are taking her back to Chatham. Departed from the marina and passed through Allington Lock only to be confronted by a serious amount of debris and rubbish in the river. There was a requirement to proceed very slowly in order to avoid damage to our freshly painted boat!

Half way to Chatham we picked up a May Day Relay from Dover coastguard regarding a sinking vessel at Strood Pier Rochester. To far away to assist but passed the incident later which by that time was under control.

Arrived safely back at Chatham Marina and put her back in her berth. It's been a long four weeks away.

Cruise Notes: Relocation trip to take Kevayling back to Allington Marina where she will be lifted out in order to undergo hull and deck renovation.

A cloudy, overcast day for a run upriver but passed our moorings neighbour (Morwenna) who was also out for a days sailing. Good run allowing the engines to work at high revs on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately the state of the river approaching Allington Lock was appalling with heavy debris and reed mats covering most of the water. Reported to the lock keeper.

Asked for immediate return to lock due to engine problem, granted and reentered lock without problem.

On investigation found that the port engine throttle cable had failed. Seeking engineer assistance to fix.

Crew Names: Ray, Annette & Marion
Cruise Notes: Took my sister, Marion, on her first sea trip out on a boat. Departed from Chatham and ran out to Bishops Marsh before turning back. Many small sailing dinghies out on the estuary so the ran back was slower than the run out due to having to steer around them. The lock gate was open as we headed back so took the advantage of going straight in rather than go on to Rochester.
