Cruise Notes: Without doubt one of the shortest recorded log entries in the log book. Planned to go out for a 2 hour cruise and on accelerating away from Chatham Lock port engine failed to respond. Had manoeuvring speed when drive engaged but no power.

Asked for immediate return to lock due to engine problem, granted and reentered lock without problem.

On investigation found that the port engine throttle cable had failed. Seeking engineer assistance to fix.

Cruise Notes: Survey cruise of the lower tidal Medway with the author Simon Elliott on-board. Fantastic & informative cruise with Simon as he researched and photographed sites of historical interest along the way. Moored up on the river bank at Aylesford for a bite of lunch before heading back down river to Chatham.

Footnote: Simon's book recently published is 'Sea Eagles of the Empire'. A study of the Roman navy around the seas of Britain.
